Andrés José Túñez Arceo was born in 1987 Caracas, Venezuela, in the family of immigrants from Spain. When he was 7 years old his family returned to Spain, where a Spanish-Venezuelan footballer started playing football in Colegio La Salle, and then joined SD Compostela and Celta de Vigo’s youth team, where he went on his senior career. In 2006, Túñez joined reserve team and in February 2010 he was promoted to the main squad.
In the 2011/12 season, he was one of Celta’s central defenders and appeared in 32 matches, helping his club to promote to the top division. In the season 2013/2014 Tunez played on loan for Beitar Jerusalem.
Since 2011 Túñez has represented the Venezuela national football team.
