Andrija Delibašić is a footballer from Montenegro who plays as a striker for Rayo Vallecano.
He started playing football for Serbian side Partizan in 1999 where he spent three and a half years. In January 2004 Andrija was transferred to Mallorca but he didn’t manage to win a firm place in the starting eleven there. The striker was sent on loan to Braga, Benfica, AEK and Real Sociedad before he moved to Hércules in 2008. Since 2010, Delibašić plays for Rayo Vallecano newly promoted to La Liga.
After the separation of Serbia and Montenegro, Delibašić decided to represent the newly-formed national team of Montenegro. However, Andrija couldn’t establish any contact with the management of Montenegro’s football union for a long time.
Delibašić eventually debuted for his country against Georgia on 10 October 2009. This game was rather successful for the footballer as he scored seven minutes into the match. This game was won by the team of Montenegro with the eventual score 2-1 which was partly a due to Delibašić. On 7 October 2011 Delibašić saved his side from a defeat once again. Being just a late substitution he managed to score a dramatic goal against England allowing Montenegro to reach the kickoff stage of Euro 2012 qualifiers.
