Andriy Pyatov is a goalkeeper for Shakhtar Donetsk and national team of Ukraine. He was born on 28 June, 1984 in Kirovohrad, Ukraine.
Andriy began his career in the second team of Vorskla Poltava in 2001. There the goalkeeper spent four seasons and featured in 56 matches. Moreover, since 2002 the goalkeeper was called up to the first team of Green-Whites, and by 2007 made a total of 46 appearances.
In January 2007 Pyatov was acquired by Shakhtar Donetsk for one million euros. Since the very first matches for Shakhtar, Piatov firmly established himself as the main goalkeeper. During his first season for Shakhtar Donetsk Andriy won Ukrainian Cup, and took part in almost every match of The Miners.
During the next three seasons Andriy has been the first-choice goalkeeper of the club from Donetsk, won UEFA Cup in 2009, and Ukrainian Premier League in 2009 and 2010. In the 2011/12 season Shakhtar Donetsk purchased Oleksandr Rybka, who was supposed to become the new first goalie of the club. That season Pyatov played only 10 matches for his club in the Ukrainian Premier League. However, in early 2012 Rybka was disqualified for the use of illicit drugs, and Pyatov was once again made Shakhtar first-choice goalkeeper.
In 2006 Andriy was called up to play as main goalkeeper and captain for Ukraine U-21. For two years the goalkeeper won 22 caps for the Ukrainian youth team, until being called up to Ukrainian national team. In that same year Andriy went to FIFA World Cup 2006 as Ukraine reserve goalkeeper, but did not participate in the tournament.
At Euro 2012 Andriy was Ukraine first-chioice goalkeeper, due to Oleksandr Shovkovskiy and Andriy Dykan injuries and Oleksandr Rybka’s disqualification. The Yellow-Blues didn’t manage to pass the group stage and gave way to England and France.
