Àngel Rangel Zaragoza was born on 28 October 1982 in Sant Carles de la Ràpita, Spain. He began his professional career in Tortosa after penning a contract with the club in 2001. Later the footballer played for Reus and Girona.
In 2005 Rangel continued his performance in Sant Andreu, where he made 33 appearances and chipped in five goals during the season.
Àngel spent the 2006/2007 season in Terrassa, took part in 34 matches and netted two goals. In the summer 2007, the back transferred to Welsh side Swansea City. That move revealed the footballer’s talent and he got to top five players of the club by the end of the season. In November 2011, Rangel was voted the best defender of the Barclays Premier League.
The management of Manchester City announced they were eager to secure Àngel’s services, but negotiations failed and the footballer stayed in Swansea, where he made about 200 appearances and continues to play up till now.
