Ángel Domingo López Ruano was born in 1981 in Las Palmas, Spain. Currently he plays for Real Betis as a right back or a midfielder.
He began playing football in his hometown team UD Las Palmas starting with the youth squad. During the 2000/02 seasons Ángel featured in 32 matches in each of two seasons. In January 2003, he switched to Celta de Vigo and until the end of the end of the season he featured in 15 league matches and helped the team to reach UEFA Champions League qualification, though Celta suffered relegation the next season. Ángel stayed with the club until 2007 when he joined Villarreal CF. There he shared his duties of a defender with Javi Venta and during his first season in the club the team finished the league runner-up, their best-ever position. After Javi Venta left for Levante UD in 2009/10, Ángel became the first-choice but In January 2011 he suffered a knee injury and was sidelined for six months. In 2012, he moved to Real Betis.
