Ângelo Mariano de Almeida plays as a defender for Siena. He was born on June 12, 1981 in Salvador, Brazil.
In 2002 Ângelo started his professional career in the renowned Brazilian club Corinthians. He tried to earn a place in the starting eleven for two years and a half but high level of competition didn’t allow him to achieve this goal. Maybe Almeida started his career in professional football too early because he wasn’t ready for such level of competition. In 2003 the footballer signed a contract with São Caetano where he spent a season scoring 1 goal in 13 matches. In 2004 Ângelo joined another Brazilian football club Criciúma where he played in 15 games and kicked one goal in the 2004/2005 season.
In 2005 Ângelo signed a contract with Lecce and moved to Italy. In the debut season he was a substitute sometimes getting into the starting eleven. In the following year the defender was on loan to Crotone. When Ângelo returned to Lecce, the head coach decided to give him a chance to appear in the starting eleven. It was a right decision because the defender began to play successfully for the team, scoring 8 goals in 129 matches until 2010.
In 2010 Ângelo signed a contract with Parma, where he spent one season. He played for this club only in half of the matches, to be exact in 21 games for a year. In the summer 2011 Almeida moved to Siena where he plays successfully as a defender until now.
