Anthony Lurling is a forward of NAC Breda. He was born on 22 April 1977 in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands.
Anthony’s career took off in local Hertogstad, where the footballer was trained to be a forward, because he possessed all necessary qualities. Lurling’s second academy was the youth system of Den Bosch, which later secured his services on professional basis.
From 1994, Anthony became the pivot of the club and amassed 56 goals in 135 matches during five years. In 1999, the player decided to seal a three-year deal with Eredivisie side Heerenveen. Lurling showed impressive performance once again and netted 36 goals in 92 fixtures during his spell.
Rotterdam side Feyenoord could not leave such talented footballer unnoticed and penned a three-year contract with him in 2002. However, Anthony managed to fire only eight goals in 57 games during three seasons.
After his Feyenoord spell, the player’s stellar display seemed to be over. In 2004, Lurling was sent on loan to NAC Breda and chipped in four goals in 29 matches for the temporary team during the 2004/2005 season.
From 2005 till 2007, the footballer performed for German side 1. FC Köln, Dutch side RKC Waalwijk and Den Bosch, but he found his place only in NAC Breda, where Anthony plays up till now. Lurling took part in 150 fixtures and went on to net 28 times from 2007 till November 2012.
