An Irish footballer Anthony Stokes plays for Celtic and the Republic of Ireland national team as a striker. He was born on 25 July 1988.
Anthony started his pro career in 2005 at Arsenal. He’d played during a year for the main squad before he was sent on loan to Falkirk. In 2007, the striker’s contract was bought out by Sunderland. But Stokes didn’t manage to settle in the team, that’s why the following 2 years he spent serving loans to Sheffield United and Crystal Palace.
In the summer 2009, Anthony joined the Scottish club Hibernian. The 2009/2010 season was lined with 23 goals scored in 43 matches. After such a fabulous season the footballer was noticed by Celtic from the Scottish Premier League. Stokes continues to perform for the main squad.
Anthony’s the winner of the 2006/2007 Football League Championship, the holder of The Scottish Cup. He was also honored with the prize of the 2009/2010 Clydesdale Bank Premier League Goal of the Season.
