Antoine Griezmann is a French footballer, born in 1991 in Mâcon, France. He began playing in his hometown youth team. As a teenager Antoine tried to join several European clubs’ youth academies, but was rejected. Playing on trial for Montpellier in the game against Paris Saint-Germain he drew attention of some European clubs and Real Sociedad was among those teams. After a two-weak long trial in San Sebastián Griezmann was offered a contract with the club.
He spent four years in Real Sociedad’s youth system and when he scored four goals in five friendly games in the 2009/10 preseason campaign, Antoine progressed to the senior team.
In September 2009 he made his debut in Copa del Rey match against Rayo Vallecano, when he played as a substitute. Soon he made his La Liga debut and in September he scored his first professional goal against SD Huesca in a 2–0 win. Scoring several goals at the beginning of the campaign he began to appear regularly and Real Sociedad won promotion to La Liga after three-year absence.
Antoine Griezmann attracted attention of many European clubs, among them were French clubs Lyon, Saint-Étienne, and Auxerre, Premier League clubs Manchester United and Arsenal, but in April 2010 he signed a five-year contract with Real Sociedad. In the summer 2014 Griezmann was lured to La Liga champions, Atletico Madrid.
Antoine Griezmann represented France at youth levels and in 2014 he debuted for senior national team.
