Antonio Cassano is a striker for Parma. He was born on 12 July 1982 in Bari, Italy.
Antonio’s professional career started in 1999 with two seasons in A.S. Bari. During that time Antonio often appeared in the club’s starting lineup. From 1999 to 2001 Cassano played 48 matches and scored 6 goals.
A.S. Bari was just a warm-up for the Italian striker, for the best years lay ahead of him. In 2001 he signed a contract with A.S. Roma. The senior coach of the Roman club didn’t put Cassano into the starting lineup at the beginning, he waited for Antonio to reach his potential. In the middle of his run with Roma, Cassano began to score a lot of goals and thus was allowed in the starting lineup. For 5 years in A.S. Roma, Antonio Cassano appeared in 118 matches and scored 39 goals.
In 2006 Antonio was tempted by Real Madrid’s offer, although he understood perfectly that it would be hard to secure a permanent spot on the stellar team’s roster. During his debut season in Real Madrid, Antonio scored only 2 goals in 19 matches, and was loaned out to U.C. Sampdoria.
During the 2007/08 season Cassano successfully played for Sampdoria, and scored 10 goals in 22 matches. The club’s management liked Antonio and wanted to sign a contract with him on a permanent basis. After short talks, the two clubs agreed on the transfer terms and in summer 2008 Antonio became a full-fledged player of U.C. Sampdoria. During 3 seasons with the club, Cassano scored 25 goals in 74 matches.
In 2011 Antonio signed a contract with A.C. Milan, played 33 matches and scored 7 goals.
A year later he moved across the city to join Internazionale and score another 7 goals for the club.
Since 2013 Cassano has featured for Parma.
From 1998 to 2002 Antonio appeared in 30 matches and scored 7 goals for the Italian U-15 and U-21 teams. Starting from 2003 Antonio Cassano has scored 10 goals in 35 matches as a striker of the Italian national football team.
