Antonio Rosati is a goalkeeper of Napoli. He was born on 26 June 1983 in Tivoli, Italy.
Antonio’s youth career started in the 1990s at Atletico Roma F.C. football academy. During his stay at the club Antonio was a key player in Lodigiani youth team. In 2002, during one of the Italian youth championship matches, Rosati was scouted by Lecce. Antonio was invited to participate in an exhibition match and right after it the coaching staff unanimously approved him as a candidate for Lecce youth academy. Rosati studied at Lecce academy for 2 years until he graduated and was promoted to the first team.
In 2004 Antonio’s career entered a new level as he reached a high level of play and was signed by his home club Lecce. During his debut season with the Giallorossi Antonio rarely started matches due to high skill of the club’s first goalkeeper. In 2005 Lecce sent Rosati out on loan to U.S. Sambenedettese. During the 2005/06 the young goalkeeper made 8 appearances for the club.
After returning to Lecce Antonio was put in the starting lineup more often and eventually ousted the former first goalkeeper. For the following 5 years Antonio Rosati was Lecce’s first-choice goalie and made 115 appearances.
In 2011 S.S.C. Napoli offered Antonio to join the club as a second goalkeeper and he agreed hoping to become the new club’s first goalkeeper in time. However, after the arrival of Pepe Reina in the summer 2013, Rosati had to leave for Sassuolo.
