Anzor Kavazashvili is a Soviet footballer, born in 1940 in Batumi. He joined FC Dinamo Tbilisi in 1957, in 1960 has a short spell at Zenit Leningrad and then moved to FC Torpedo Moscow, where he played until 1968. Between 1969 and 1971 he played for FC Spartak Moscow, then had a spell at FC Torpedo Kutaisi. In 1965 and 1967 Kavazashvili was named Soviet Goalkeeper of the Year.
He made his debut for the USSR national team on 27 June 1965, which was a 6-0 victory against Denmark. In total he earned 29 caps.
Kavazashvili took over as a football manager after retirement and guided FC Spartak Kostroma, then he was at the helm of the Chad national team, coached the USSR national youth team and in 1985/86 was responsible for the Guinea national squad.
