Aras Özbiliz was born on March 9, 1990 in Istanbul, Turkey. He currently plays as a midfielder for FC Spartak Moscow.
Aged 5, the boy started playing football with the youth system of HVV Hollandia and went on at Ajax youth academy in between 1998 and 2010. In 2010 the footballer signed a two-year professional contract with the club and already in June was named the most promising player of the Ajax academy. On November 28, 2010 Aras made his Eredivisie debut in a 0-2 away victory against VVV-Venlo where he came on as a substitute on the 46th minute, and on April 3, 2011 the player scored his first goal. It occurred in the home match against Heracles Almelo when Özbiliz came on in the 71st minute and made it 3-0 for Ajax with his well-placed left-footed shot on the 81st minute. On February 23, 2012 Aras appeared in the UEFA Europa League match against Manchester United where he scored an equalizer on the 37th minute, thereby becoming the first Ajax footballer to net a goal in a European cup game at Old Trafford. The game ended in a 1-2 loss for the Dutch team.
In the summer 2012, the striker left for FC Kuban Krasnodar, where he signed a four-year contract and on August 20, 2012 made his debut appearance in the Russian Premier League match against FC Alania Vladikavkaz. Having played 24 times for the club Aras scored 11 times and attracted attention of the capital club Spartak. In the summer 2013 the deal was formalized.
Aras Özbiliz is capped to the Armenia national team since 2012. He made his international debut on February 29, 2012 coming as a starter in a friendly against Canada and converting a penalty on the 90th minute of the game.
