Arnold Kruiswijk is a defender of Heerenveen. He was born on 2 November 1984 in Groningen, Netherlands.
Arnold’s youth career took off in renowned F.C. Groningen, where he trained in the academy and performed for various youth teams. From year to year, the footballer’s skills were getting better and better, which made him a very promising defender.
In 2001 the management of the club decided to pen a contract with the young player. At first, Arnold made occasional appearances for the main team, because he needed time to adapt to the Eredivisie pace. In the middle of his second season, Kruiswijk began to come on the field more often and soon became the pivot of defense, who featured in 150 matches for Groningen during seven years.
In 2008 Belgian side Anderlecht offered the talented defender a place in the main team. Arnold did not hesitate to accept the offer and moved to the new club in the summer 2008. However, his career did not go forward, because Kruiswijk rarely came on the pitch throughout two years with the squad.
In January 2010, the management of Anderlecht sent the Dutch defender on loan to Roda. That did a lot of good to Arnold, as he returned to his native country. The footballer made 17 appearances during six month in the temporary team. He featured in the same number of fixtures for his parent Anderlecht, but during two years.
In the summer the same year, Kruiswijk finalized a move to Eredivisie side Heerenveen and continues his successful performance for the club up till now.
