Artur Zapadnya is a Ukrainian professional defender currently playing for Metalurh Zaporizhya. He was born on June 4, 1990 in Pervomaisk, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union.
In 2005 Artur Zapadnya began his training at Volyn Lutsk FC, but had spent only a few months there till he moved to the academy of Nafkom Brovary FC. He stayed at the club for a year and a half developing key defending skills. In January 2007 the young footballer joined the football school of Monolit Illichivsk FC and one year later became a professional footballer in Illichivets Mariupol FC, where Artur Zapadnya played from 2008 till 2011. However, most of the time the defender spent on the bench being used only in 14 matches. The club training sessions helped him keep good shape and work on his defending techniques.
In 2012 Artur Zapadnya signed for Vorskla Poltava FC and later on for struggling Premier League side Metalurh Zaporizhya.
