Ashley Cole is an English full-back, born on 20 December 1980.
Ashley had been playing for the Arsenal youth team and in November 1999 he made appearance for the regular team. Cole started as a forward, his first game was against Middlesbrough. On 25 February 2000 Ashley signed his first professional contract. To gain more playing experience he was sent on loan to Crystal Palace, where Cole made 14 appearances and found the net once. Then Ashley suffered a serious injury that kept him out of business for a long time.
In July 2005 the footballer signed a new contract with Arsenal and in a year he signed for Chelsea in exchange for William Gallas, who transferred to Arsenal.
During eight seasons with Chelsea, Cole appeared in 338 matches and scored 7 goals. With the arrival of Jose Mourinho in 2013, Ashley fell out of favor and had look for a new club. In the summer 2014 he joined AS Roma.
Since 2001 to 2014 Cole had 107 caps for the England national team.
In February 2011 Cole would get involved in a mere unpleasant accident at Chelsea’s training ground where he shot an intern. He didn’t know the .22 calibre air rifle was loaded and thought it would be a harmless joke. Luckily that was a through wound. Still, that incident blemished his reputation and the footballer was fined a large amount of money by his employer.
