Assani Lukimya-Mulongoti is a Congolese-German defender, who was born on 25 January 1986 in Uvira, DR Congo.
Assani’s youth career took off in the academy of SV Norden Nordwest 1898, located in Berlin. In 2000 he signed for another youth club Tasmania-Gropiusstadt. In 2004 Lukimya was purchased by Hertha BSC, where he performed for the second team. Three years later the footballer joined FC Hansa Rostock’s reserves, and then was included in the senior team. On 9 March 2009 Assani was suspended from the main squad and returned to the second team.
In August Lukimya became a free agent and penned a deal with FC Carl Zeiss Jena.
On 20 April 2010 the footballer was announced to leave the club, signing a 2-year contract with renowned Fortuna Düsseldorf.
On 24 May 2012 Assani agreed terms with SV Werder Bremen and penned a contract, running until 30 June 2015.
