Behrang Safari is a Swedish player of Iranian descent born on 9 February 1985 in Tehran. He currently plays for Basel and the Swedish national team.
Behrang started playing football after his family moved to Sweden. His junior career began in 1992, when he entered the youth department of Lunds SK. He spent 3 years performing for the youth squad of Malmö FF. By 2004, Behrang was considered to be a footballer of professional level. Safari signed a pro contract with Atlético Malmö FF and his senior career started off. On 15 June 2008, the Swede moved to FC Basel debuting on 23 July in the match versus Grasshopper-Club Zürich.
On 30 May 2011 Safari penned a contract with R.S.C. Anderlecht.
In 2013 he returned to his former club Basel.
Behrang claimed the Swiss Super League title two times in a row and won the Swiss Cup with Basel. Besides, he is the winner of Jupiler Pro League.
