Benjamin Anthony Foster is an English goalkeeper currently playing for West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League. He was born on 3 April 1983 in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, England.
Ben started his career at Racing Club Warwick in 2000. After that he moved to Stoke City but spent much time on loan at Bristol City, Tiverton Town, Stafford Rangers, Kidderminster Harriers and Wrexham. In 2005, a promising goalkeeper joined English heavyweights Manchester United. However, he was immediately sent on loan to Watford. Foster became a first-choice keeper at the temporary club and helped them to win the Football League Championship play-offs in the 2005/06 season. He returned to the Red Devils ahead of the 2007/08 campaign but missed the beginning of the season due to the knee injury. Thus Foster made his debut in the Manchester United shirt in a match against Derby County where he impressed with two terrific saves. Nevertheless, he was further deployed mostly as a backup keeper with only 22 appearances for United in between 2008 and 2010. The shortage of playing time prompted Foster to move to Birmingham City where he eventually became a regular. In 2011, the goalkeeper joined West Bromwich Albion, initially on loan and then signed a permanent deal with the club.
Ben Foster made his international debut for the England national team in a match against Spain in February 2007.
