Ebert William Amâncio, also known as Betão, is a defender of Brazilian origin who represents Evian on loan from Dynamo Kyiv. He was born on November 11, 1983 in São Paulo, Brazil.
Betão started his youth career at Corinthians in 2000, later signing a professional deal with the side. During his six-year spell at the club in between 2001 and 2007 he featured in 143 matches and scored 4 goals.
On 6 August 2007 he was transferred to Sochaux for a €1 million fee, penning a four-year contract with the French club. However, Sochaux sold the player back to Corinthians. After the contract with Corinthians had expired, the footballer refused to extend his stay at the club. In the winter of 2008, Amâncio joined Santos, where he played until July 2008, taking part in 5 games. On January 16, 2008 Betão played his debut match for Santos in the Campeonato Paulista. On February 24, 2008 he netted his maiden goal in the 4-1 thrashing of Ituano.
In the summer of 2008 Betão completed a move to Dynamo Kyiv for a fee of £1.4 million. Since 2008 till November 2012, Amâncio has registered 106 appearances for the Ukrainian side. In 2013 he was loaned out to French side Evian.
