A Brazilian footballer Fábio Alves da Silva, aka Fábio Bilica, plays as a center back for the Turkish club Elazığspor. He was born on 4 January 1979 in Campina Grande.
Fábio’s professional career started in 1996 at Bahia, where he spent two seasons. In total, he netted two goals in 10 matches. In 1998, a move to Venezia happened. He remained at the club until 2002 making 75 appearances and being once lucky to find the net. For quite a long period, from 2002 until 2006, Bilica spent time trying to make the teams with such clubs as Palermo, Brescia, Ancona, Goiás, Grêmio and FC Köln.
After the footballer had had a season-long spell at Istres, he moved to Romania, where he joined Universitatea Cluj. There he was highly appreciated by the head coach who gave the player every possibility to reveal his talent. Nevertheless, after the match against CFR Cluj, Fábio was suspected of playing unfair and helping the opponents to win the Romanian championship. That’s why the player was released after the season’s end.
In the summer 2008, Bilica was scouted by Fenerbahçe. Whilst playing for the Turkish club, the footballer got the taste of the trophy-winning with the team coming to the top of the Süper Lig during the 2010/2011 season. He also was the holder of the 2009 Turkish Super Cup and the 2011 Turkish Cup. In 2012, the center back was hired by another Turkish club Elazığspor.
Bilica also made 16 appearances for the Brazil U-23 squad. He took part at the 2000 Summer Olympics, where his team managed to reach the quarter finals. The Braxil national squad lost to Cameroon.
