Bogdan Sorin Stancu is a striker from Romania, currently playing for Orduspor. He was born in 1987 in Piteşti, Romania. He graduated from the academy of FC Argeş Piteşti in 2005 and shortly after that was sent on loan to Dacia Mioveni. Stancu featured in 12 matches for Mioveni and scored three goals during a season and then returned to Argeş Piteşti, where he made his first appearance in a 0-0 draw against Steaua Bucureşti. From 2006 to 2008 Bogdan Stancu played for Unirea Urziceni and after that he retuned back to Steaua Bucureşti, for a fee, as in was reported, of €1 million. Having spent his first season there Stancu became the top scorer with his netted 11 goals. The 2009/10 season was prolific for the player as he helped the team to reach the play-offs of the Europa League. The following season he showed good results as well.
In January 2005, Stancu moved to Turkey being sold to Galatasaray for €5m. In his debut Turkish Cup game the Romanian player scored a goal. Till the end of the season he netted 3 goals in 16 matches and in August 2011 was sent on loan to Orduspor, which he finally joined on a permanent basis for €2,5m.
Stancu represented Romania at U21 level and since 2006 he has been called up to the senior national team.
