A Brazilian footballer Humberlito Borges Teixeira plays as a striker for Cruzeiro. He was born on 5 October 1980 in Salvador.
Humberlito’s start to life at professional football can’t be named great, as he spent long time trying to settle in at various clubs. From 2001 to 2005, the striker performed for such clubs as Arapongas, Bebedouro, Jataiense, São Caetano and Paysandu. In 2005, after making 18 appearances for São João, Borges opted to join Paraná. The move turned to be a success, as the footballer racked up 19 goals in 36 games. After such an awe-inspiring season, Humberlito was invited to Japanese squad Vegalta Sendai.
After coming back to his motherland, Borges signed for São Paulo. His club career there would span for two seasons, since he first joined them in 2007. While playing for the team, the striker got his first honors. He was twice awarded with the title in Brazilian League (2007 and 2008).
The 2010/2011 season would find him playing for Grêmio, where he featured in 13 club’s fixtures and netted 3 goals. In 2011, the striker was hired by Santos. But the contract was canceled in July 2012, as Humberlito was scouted by Cruzeiro. He’s already appeared more than 10 times for the squad.
In 2011, Borges was once called up for the Brazil national team.
