Boris Vukčević, born on 16 March 1990 in Osijek, Croatia (ex-Jugoslavia), is a German footballer of Croatian origin.
He began his early career playing for the youth team SV 1899 Staufenberg. He later transferred to SV Böblingen and eventually he was training at FvL Sindelfingen. Boris performed for VfB Stuttgart until 2008, when he successfully completed contract negotiations with Hoffenheim. The 20-year-old signed a four-year deal with the Bundesliga side. He actually joined Hoffenheim reserve team from VfB Stuttgart in September 2008, and has since displayed great pace, athleticism and technique for the club. His debut came as a 19-year-old in a draw 2-2 against Schalke 04, Vukčević himself assisted in making goals, in order for his team to stay equal in the game. From the very beginning of the 2009/2010 season the player started performing for the first team squad and netted his fist goal in the match against Stuttgart. In total, Vukčević has appeared in 20 games for the reserve (scoring 1 goal) and in 68 matches for the first team squad (scoring 5 goals). Last season he played a total of 28 games, and he will surely play many more in the blue and white of Hoffenheim.
In 2008 Boris represented Germany at the U-19 in one match and also in the U-21 level. For the latter he has appeared on the pitch in 4 more matches. As to caps, the player hasn’t scored any goals. So far Boris hasn’t been included in the first national team.
