The Spanish midfielder Borja Valero is currently playing for ACF Fiorentina.
Valero started his career in the youth academy of Real Madrid. He had been playing for R.M. Castilla in Segunda from 2005 to 2007. Moreover he managed to make some appearances in the main squad of real Madrid in Champions League and Spanish Cup.
Borja became the free agent in 2007 and immediately signed a long-term contract with RCD Mallorca. He managed to make 35 appearances and scored 4 goals during his first season with Los Bermellones.
On 22 August, 2008, Valero was transferred to West Bromwich Albion, which had just been promoted to the Premier League, for £5 million. The Spaniard penned a four-year contract with an option of extension for one more year. Valero played in 31 matches during his debut season but didn’t manage to save the team from relegation.
In the summer 2009 in the last days of transfer window Valero was loaned to RCD Mallorca for one year. He immediately became the anchor player of the team and made 33 appearances firing in 5 goals in 2009/10 season. Besides, he helped his team to clinch fifth place in La Liga and received Don Balon Award as the best player of the season in Spain.
Valero was loaned to Villarreal, after that on 1 July, 2011, the club decided to sign the player on a permanent basis.
In the summer 2012 after Villareal’s relegation to Segunda Borja joined ACF Fiorentina.
