Dane Brekken Shea is a footballer from the USA, born in 1990 in College Station, Texas. He began his youth career at Texans FC and in 2005 he joined IMG Soccer Academy in Bradenton, Florida. He graduated from high school and joined C Dallas in 2008. His MSL debut there came in the match against Chivas USA on 20 April 2008. He played with the reserves for some time and throughout his first two seasons he was used as a defender, central midfielder or striker, finally chose the position of a left winger. In 2011 Shea was named the top player of the MLS season.
After such a successful season he was called up to play for the MLS All-Star Game and in November 2011 he went to train with Arsenal for a month. In 2012 he missed three months due to a recovery from an injury and in January 2013 Shea completed a move to England signing a four-and-a-half year contract with Stoke City for £2.5 million.
Brek Shea played for the US U17, U20 and U23 teams. He earned his first cap fot the senior team a World Cup qualifier on 18 June 2008.
