Brendan Moloney is a back, born on 18 January 1989 in Killarney, Ireland.
Brendan started to play football at the junior level in the academy of Killarney Athletic, where he performed for one of youth squads. In the course of time, the footballer became more confident at the position of a defender and trained to take the place of a right back, because he had all necessary qualities for the position. Brendan managed to draw the attention of Belvedere scouts and was offered a move to the new youth system. The footballer accepted the offer and started to get ready for a professional start.
In 2006, Nottingham Forest secured Moloney’s services on a senior long-term deal. The back failed to become a regular and made occasional appearances for the team during his first two seasons. He had to gain experience during trainings till 2008, when the management of ‘Foresters’ decided to send Brendan on loan to Chesterfield. The footballer netted one goal in nine fixtures during his spell and finalized a temporary move to Rushden & Diamonds. From 2008 till 2010, Moloney performed for Rushden & Diamonds, Notts County and Scunthorpe United and featured in 25 games for the clubs in total. In January 2013 Brendan signed a new deal with Bristol City. In the summer 2014 he switched for Yeovil Town.
From 2009 till 2011, the back was capped six times for the Republic of Ireland national U-21 squad.
