Brian Murphy is a goalkeeper of QPR. He was born on 7 May 1983 in Waterford, Ireland.
In 2000 Brian’s professional career took off in Manchester City. The footballer did not manage to make any appearances during two years and a half with the club. At the beginning of 2003, Murphy was sent on loan to Oldham, from where he moved to Peterborough United and spent some more time performing on loan.
In the summer 2003, Brian penned a contract with Swansea City and played for it during three years and a half. The keeper took part only in 13 games during his spell, but the full-scale start of his career came a bit later. Despite all the time Murphy lost on the substitutes’ bench, he wanted to perform on permanent basis, and Bohemians could provide the goalkeeper with playing time.
In January 2007, the footballer sealed a deal with the new club and featured in 97 matches as a first-choice goalkeeper during two seasons and a half. At the beginning of 2010, Brian completed a move to Ipswich Town, where he made 20 appearances during one season and a half. In the summer 2011, Murphy officially became a player of QPR, where he performs as a second-choice goalkeeper.
