Bruno Alves is a centre back of Fenerbahçe. He was born on 27 November 1981 in Póvoa de Varzim, Portugal.
Bruno’s professional career took off in Porto in 1999. The footballer spent his first season in Porto B. From 2001 till 2010, Alves successfully performed for the main team of the club and amassed 14 goals in 119 fixtures. During three seasons (2002-2005), the back played on loan at Farense, Vitória Guimarães and AEK Athens.
In 2010 Bruno sealed a deal with Zenit St. Petersburg, where he perform up till 2013. The footballer made 70 appearances for the club. At that time he completed a move to Fenerbahçe.
From 2001, the back was capped for the Portugal national U-20 team. From 2002 till 2004, Alves was called up to the U-21 squad. In 2004 he took part in one game for Portugal B. From 2007, Bruno featured in 63 matches and contributed eight goals for the full national team.
