A Portuguese footballer Bruno Amaro Sousa Barros was born on 17 February 1983 in Penafiel.
Bruno started trying his hand at football from his childhood. When he was 10 he entered the academy of Cetê. In 1994, he continued his studies in Parada Pinhão and finished the junior career in 2002 at the youth department of Penafiel.
In 2002, Amaro penned his first pro contract with Pensfiel for a term of five years. At first he played for the reserves, but very soon he got promotion to the main team, making 76 appearances as a starter.
In September 2006, Sousa moved to Nacional, where he appeared 72 times and netted 2 goals.
In 2009, the footballer was sent on loan to Académica. The 2009/2010 season turned to be very unfortunate, as the midfielder didn’t get enough playing time. He appeared only 3 times and scored one goal for the temporary squad.
In 2011, Bruno took the proposal from Vitória de Setúbal. After two years Amaro switched for Arouca.
In 2005, the footballer got his first cap for the Portugal U-21 team. He made two appearances for the squad during the 2005/2006 season.
