Bruno was born in Niterói, Brazil. He was fascinated by football in early childhood. In 2003, Mezenga began training at Flamengo, where his professional career started.
In 2005, the young football player signed a professional contract with the club. He appeared in 18 matches since 2005 to 2011. Mezenga was also loaned to other clubs five times. Those clubs included Fortaleza, Macae, Legia Warszawa, Orduspor (where he became the Championship top scorer) and Red Star.
In 2012, the footballer became a player of Orduspor. On July 17, 2012 he was sent on loan to Akhisar Belediyespor, where he plays as a forward. Mezenga made his debut for the new team on August 17, 2012 in a 1-0 victory over Eskişehirspor. His contract expires on May 31, 2013.
