Bruno Renan Trombelli is a central midfielder for Shakhtar Donetsk. He was born on 19 April 1991 in Maringá, Brazil.
In 2005, at the age of 14, Bruno entered the football academy of Grêmio, where he stayed until 2009. In the summer of 2009 Bruno, along with another Grêmio student Tiago Dutra, was sold to Spanish Villarreal for approximately £1.8 million. Even then Bruno was interesting for European giants like Milan, Chelsea and Liverpool.
Renan played neither for the first, nor for the second team of Villarreal, because of a limit on foreign players in Segunda División, in which the B team of The Yellow Submarine performed. As a result, the Spanish club loaned Renan straight back to his alma mater Grêmio. There the footballer spent the next two seasons, and in 2009 became the champion of Brazilian U20 Championships.
On 31 August 2010 the midfielder signed a five-year contract with Shakhtar Donetsk. Bruno became the seventh Brazilian player at the Donetsk club. On 27 October 2010 Renan debuted for the Miners’ first team in a 2-0 win against Poltava. His debut in the Ukrainian Premier League came on 14 May 2011 in a 1-1 draw against Vorskla Poltava.
In that season the Miners became champions of Ukraine and winners of the Ukrainian Cup, but Renan’s contribution to these achievements was minimal. Most of the season he spent playing for the Miners’ second squad, and participating in the Ukrainian Junior Championships, totaling 15 matches and 4 goals. In June 2011 Bruno was loaned for half a season to Zorya Luhansk. After returning to Shakhtar he played another season in the second team. In 2013 the Brazilian played for Criciuma.
In 2009 Bruno Renan made a single appearance for Brazil U-18.
