Juan Torres Ruiz (also known under a nickname Cala) is a Spanish centre back.
He made his first appearance in the season 2007/08 playing for Sevilla Atletico in the second division.
On December 9, 2009 Juan played his first match for the club starting against Glasgow Rangers in the UEFA Champions League where Sevilla FC gained a victory 1-0.
Cala made his first appearance in La Liga on February 7, 2010 against Zaragoza but his team lost the game. The defender set his own club record having played in his first series of matches for Malaga. He played 3 games in a row with 2 victories and one defeat.
In the season 2011/12 Cala went on loan to Cartagena FC, a club that enjoys its permanent place in the Segunda division. After another loan spell with AEK Athens, Cala continued to perform for Sevilla till the winter 2014. At that time he completed a move to Cardiff City.
