Callum McManaman is a striker of Wigan Athletic. He was born on 25 April 1991 in Huyton, England.
Callum’s youth career took off in the academy of Everton, to where he was admitted after a trial in 1998. McManaman spent a lot of years in the youth system and cruised through all junior teams of the club, participating in various youth competitions. However, in 2007, when the footballer was about to graduate from the academy of ‘The Toffees’, Wigan Athletic made a tempting offer to the club and brought the young talent to their ground. It took the striker another two years to get ready for the professional performance.
Callum reached the new level in 2009, when he penned the first professional contract in his career. After becoming a player of the main team, McManaman had to face competition, which only made him stronger and more self-confident. Despite the footballer made only two appearances during two years, he was not disappointed, because the management gave him a chance to keep perfectly fit and send him on loan to Blackpool, where the striker netted two goals in 14 matches during the 2011/2012 season.
In 2011 Callum was capped four times for the England national U-20 team.
