Cameron Jerome is a striker of Stoke City. He was born on 14 August 1986 in Huddersfield, England.
Cameron did not spend his entire youth career in one academy, as it often happens. His football life started in the youth system of local Huddersfield Town, where the player stayed during several years before moving to Grimsby Town, which became his second club. The end of Jerome’s youth career fell on the academy of Sheffield Wednesday, where Cameron trained and performed for one of youth teams during his last years as a non-pro.
In 2003 Jerome was offered to seal a contract with Middlesbrough. The striker accepted the offer and became a professional footballer, but he did not manage to make any appearances for his first senior club.
In 2004 Cameron got an opportunity to make a full-scale start at the pro level, when Cardiff City decided to secure his services. Jerome featured in 73 games and amassed 24 goals for the club during two years.
In 2006 Birmingham City lodged a tempting bid for the footballer. The parties soon came to an agreement and Cameron officially joined the club in the summer the same year. Since then, the player not only became a part of the new team, but also a regular, who made starts almost in every match during all seasons. Jerome made 181 appearances and fired 37 goals for Birmingham City during five years.
In 2011 Premier League side Stoke City bought the striker from his previous club and sealed a long-term contract with him. Cameron found the net only four times in the 2011/2012 season, but he just needed time to adapt to the level of the Barclays.
However, after two years with the Potters Jerome was loaned to Crystal Palace.
From 2005 till 2007, Jerome was capped ten times for the England national U-21 squad.
