Carl Dickinson is a back of Port Vale. He was born on 31 March 1987 in Swadlincote, England.
In 2004, Carl graduated from the academy of Stoke City and joined the main squad. The footballer penned a contract with the club and started to make occasional appearances. Dickinson was given few opportunities to come on the pitch, because he was a rookie, who usually played the role of a substitute.
In 2006, the back went on a six-month loan to Víkingur and took part in two fixtures for the team during his spell. The same year, Carl sealed a temporary deal with Blackpool, where he featured in seven games. From 2007 till 2009, the footballer performed for his parent Stoke City, because the head coach decided to give him several chances to come on the field. From 2009 till 2011, Dickinson played on loan at Leeds United, Barnsley and Portsmouth and made 71 appearances during his spells.
In the summer 2011, the back left Stoke City after featuring in 51 matches for the club. Watford secured Carl’s services on permanent basis and saw him score two goals in 39 fixtures during the 2011/2012 season.
In October 2012, the footballer went on a one-month loan to Portsmouth and returned to his parent team on 19 November.
In the summer 2013 Dickinson made a move to Port Vale.
