A Spanish footballer Carles Planas Antolínez acts as a left back for Barcelona B. Planas was born on 4 March 1991in Sant Celoni.
In 2000, young Carles opted to join the youth side of the local club Sant Celoni, where he stayed for a year only. Very soon his performance attracted attention of the scouts from Barcelona. After the preliminary tests had been passed, a ten-year old boy was drafted into the academy of one of the most powerful Spanish clubs. For nine years, the defender cruised through all the “ranks” in the Barcelona youth system, until he was taken to the reserve team.
Planas debuted for the B squad in 2009. At first, the footballer made only occasional appearances, but within some time, he got more playing time. Carles’s already featured in more than 60 matches for the reserves. His official debut for the main team happened in 2012, when he took part in the match with Deportivo Alavés.
In 2007, Planas earned his first call for the Spain national youth team. He represented the team at U-17, U-18, U-19 and U-20 level making 24 appearances. In 2011, Carles debuted for the U-21 team.
