Carlos Labrín is a Chilean central defender of Serie A club Palermo. He was born on 2 December 1990 in Mulchén, Chile.
Carlos started his career at Huachipato youth system and progressed to the first team of the parent club in 2008. Despite his young age, he showed much craft and invention while playing and soon proved his worth in the starting XI. Labrín made a total of 97 League appearances for Huachipato during his three-year spell at the club.
In 2011, Labrín’s increasingly strong performances sparked interest of the European top clubs. One of them was Italian Serie A club Palermo which signed a promising player for a transfer fee of €1.3 million in July 2011. Having featured for several games with the Rosaneri, a Chilean defender moved on loan to Novara where he, though, had a lone appearance in the Italian Cup clash against Catania. Due to lack of playing time in the first team, he returned to Palermo in the winter 2011.
In 2013 Carlos featured for native club Huachipato on loan term.
Since 2007 till 2009, Carlos Labrín was called up to the Chile U-17 and Chile U-20 teams amassing 14 games in total. He made his debut for the Chile national team in 2010.
