Carlos Darwin Quintero is a Colombian winger. He was born on 19 September 1987 in Tumaco, Colombia.
Carlos was trained at the youth academy of Deportes Tolima. In 2006 the footballer began playing professionally with this Colombian club. All in all, he kicked 37 goals in 52 matches for Deportes Tolima. In 2007 Quintero joined Russian side Krylia Sovetov Samara together with his compatriot Juan Carlos Escobar. They became the first Colombian footballers to play in the Russian Premier League. On 21 October 2007 Quintero scored his debut goal for Krylia Sovetov helping his team to secure a 3-0 victory over FC Rubin Kazan.
In February 2008 the winger was farmed out to Colombian club Deportivo Pereira. When the footballer returned to Samara, he didn’t manage to establish himself within the squad under new coach Leonid Slutsky. Deportivo and Krylia Sovetos eventually arranged for the footballer’s transfer. In 2009 Carlos sealed a deal with Mexican club Santos Laguna with which he won the Clausura 2012.
Since 2007 Carlos Quintero has been part of the Colombia national squad.
