Carlos Sánchez plays on the position of central midfielder for a Spanish outfit Elche. He was born on 6 February 1986 in Quibdó, Colombia.
Carlos started his career in 2003 when he signed his first professional contract with local football club Danubio. For two years spent in the club he did not appear in a single match.
Such state of things did not satisfy a Colombian player. Like every footballer he wanted to hone his football skills and gain more playing experience. In the summer of 2005 Sánchez was given a chance to alter the course of events when he received a call up from River de Uruguay. The midfielder accepted the offer without hesitation and signed a contract keeping him at the club until 2007. Over a period of two seasons Carlos featured in 40 matches. Undoubtedly, that result was a kind of a record if one takes into account that in the previous club he did not participate in a single game.
In 2007 Valenciennes set their sights on a Colombian midfielder and at short notice offered him to join their club. It was an attractive offer because it gave a chance to play in one of the best European championships. What is no less important that offer gave a fair chance to represent Colombia on the international level. In 2007 the player officially joined the club and became an effective element of the squad. For 6 years Sánchez scored 9 goals in 155 appearances for the club.
In the summer 2013 Sánchez returned to South America joining a Chilean side Rangers Talca. However, only two months later he was sold to La Liga side Elche.
Since 2007 Carlos has been capped for Colombia national team. He earned his first call up as soon as he moved to Europe. Sánchez Moreno has participated in 25 matches scoring 2 goals so far.
