Carlos Valderrama is a retired Colombian football player who was famous for his bright image, clever passing, playmaking skills and unpredictable football technique.
He started his career in 1981 in Unión Magdalena where he collected 94 appearances and netted five goals. Later he had spells at the Colombian clubs Millonarios and Deportivo Cali before moving to Montpellier where he played from 1988 to 1991 featuring in 77 matches and scoring 4 goals.
Valderrama also had stints at Real Valladolid, Independiente Medellín, Atlético Junior, Tampa Bay Mutiny, Miami Fusion, Tampa Bay Mutiny and Colorado Rapids.
He made 111 appearances for the national team of Colombia and netted 11 goals.
