Casper Ankergren is a goalkeeper of Brighton & Hove Albion. He was born on 9 November 1979 in Køge, Denmark.
In 1998, Casper penned his first professional contract with Køge BK. The footballer featured only in several matches during his début season, but that spurred Ankergren’s desire to perfect his skills. In the 1999/2000 season, the player took a regular place between the posts and featured almost in every game for the club, taking his tally to total 44 appearances for Køge BK.
In 2001, Casper transferred to more prestigious Brøndby IF, but failed to become a first-choice goalie at once. The footballer always came to rescue his team, when the head coach asked him to, and took part in 124 fixtures for the club during six years.
In 2007, Ankergren sealed a deal with English side Leeds United and spent three years with ‘The Whites’. The keeper managed to gain the confidence of his teammates and the head coach, who let him come on the pitch 119 times during three seasons.
In 2010, Casper finalized a move to Championship side Brighton & Hove Albion, where he made 64 appearances as of November 2012.
In 1995, the footballer was capped two times for the Denmark national U-17 squad. In 2000, Ankergren took part in three matches for the U-21 team.
