A Brazilian footballer Marcos Venâncio de Albuquerque, better known as Ceará, acts as a right wingback for Cruzeiro. Marcos was born on 16 June 1980 in Crato.
Ceará’s junior career passed performing for the youth team of Gama. In 1999, the footballer grabbed the pro contract with Santos. His debut season was lined with four appearances made. In 2000, the player had a brief stint at Portuguesa Santista and moved to São José the same year.
In 2001, Marcos joined Santa Cruz. He featured in 19 matches appearing both as a substitute player and as the team’s starter. In 2002, a move to Botafogo happened. The wingback made no appearances for the new team at all, so he was happy to take the proposal from Coritiba in the summer 2002. He spent the 2002/2003 season with the squad appearing 32 times and netting one goal.
In 2004, Albuquerque would defend São Caetano. He managed a good season with the club appearing 26 times and netting one goal. In 2006, a move to Internacional happened. The footballer turned into the team’s pivot featuring in 55 matches and amassing four goals during the spell.
In 2007, Ceará earned a transfer to the European club Paris Saint-Germain. He signed the contract and started a new successful stage of his professional career. His spell at the French club was lined with two goals netted in 116 appearances produced.
In 2012, Marcos returned to his motherland, where he joined Cruzeiro.
