A Congolese footballer Cédric Mongongou plays as a defender for Évian Thonon Gaillard FC as well as for the DR Congo national football team.
On 4 March 2007 he made his debut in the first round of Ligue 1 competition during the match against AS Saint-Étienne. The player came on the pitch in the 69th minute as a substitute for Jaroslav Plašil. Cédric’s performance in the second round was the last in the season with the exception of three last matches.
Unlike the previous season Mongongou was actively utilized in the matches. As a result he participated in 33 rounds missing just one match due to suspension. In 2010 during winter transfer window numerous eminent clubs (Arsenal FC, Juventus, Liverpool FC and Manchester United FC) tried to gain him over to their clubs. The press betted on his transfer to AC Milan, but their expectations were not justified as Cédric stayed at AS Monaco FC.
