Cedric van der Gun is a winger of Utrecht. He was born on 5 May 1979 in The Hague, Netherlands.
Cedric’s career took off in Ajax, where the footballer performed for various youth squads till he penned a senior contract with the club in 1998. However, van der Gun did not manage to make any appearances for the capital side team during the season and left for Den Bosch. On 19 April 2000, the player made his début in the 1-1 draw with Ajax. In the summer 2000, Cedric returned to the Amsterdam side team and showed stellar performance by netting nine goals in 33 matches during the season. However, the following year was not very successful for the footballer, and he was sent on loan first to Willem II, then to ADO Den Haag.
At the beginning of 2005, van der Gun sealed a deal with German side Borussia Dortmund and made his first appearance for the new club on 28 August 2005 in the match against Duisburg. The player took part only in three fixtures for Borussia due to ligamentous rupture and returned to the Netherlands.
FC Utrecht secured Cedric services and saw him fire 17 goals in 52 games during three seasons. In 2009, the footballer transferred to Welsh side Swansea City and found the net three times in 35 matches for the new club during two years.
At the end of 2011, van der Gun put pen to paper of a two-year contract with Utrecht, where he continues to perform up till now. The player made 12 appearances and went on to net three times as of November 2012.
