César Azpilicueta is a right back at Chelsea. He was born on 28 August 1989 in a Spanish city of Pamplona.
The youth career of the Spaniard began at a local football club Osasuna. The player was attending the club’s academy taking part in youth team matches. Later he kept on playing for the club.
In 2006 the club’s management offered the young footballer to sign a professional contract. Most of all César wished to pursue his professional career and signed a long-term contract with the club. Initially the footballer was given a position in Osasuna reserve where he played 27 matches scoring 1 goal in the 2006/07 season. After César’s good play the decision to put him in the club’s first squad was made. César was actively playing for the first team since 2007. The head coach trusted the young talent. Azpilicueta featured in 99 matches for Osasuna during three years.
In 2010 qualitative changes in the Spanish footballer’s career took place as he transferred to Marseille that was playing in Ligue 1. The transfer fee made €7 million and a 4-year contract was signed.
In 2012 the player was offered a lucrative deal at Chelsea and moved to the Premier League side.
From 2005 to 2011 César was called up to play for Spain national youth teams from 16 to 21 years; he appeared in 55 matches scoring 3 goals. In 2012 he was invited to feature for the Spain national U-23 team.
