A Portuguese footballer Paulo César Silva Peixoto plays as a midfielder for Gil Vicente. He was born on 12 May 1980.
His professional career started in1999 at Caçadores Taipas, where Paulo spent the first two seasons in his playing career. He performed as the team’s substitute player, netting 2 times in 15 matches.
In 2001, Peixoto got a chance to jump into the top flight, as he was scouted by Belenenses. The footballer spent a season, netting 7 goals in 22 matches for the club.
In the summer 2002, a new contract was signed with Porto. His first three seasons with the club were lined with occasional appearances. Peixoto didn’t manage to clinch into the first eleven, performing as a substitute player only.
In 2005, the footballer was loaned out by Vitória Guimarães, where he spent the 2005/2006 season. In total, he made 13 appearances and netted one goal for the temporary squad. In the summer 2006, César moved to Spain to serve loan at Espanyol, where he spent the season without making even a single appearance.
In 2007, Peixoto moved to Braga on a free transfer. After a three-year contract had been penned, the footballer officially became the team’s member. In total, he appeared 44 times and scored 5 goals.
In the summer 2009, César was scouted by Benfica. A long-term contract was signed for a fee of €400,000. He appeared in 65 matches for the club and in 2012 he was released from contract. After this had happened, Peixoto joined Gil Vicente, where he continues to make successful appearances.
In 2002, the footballer was called 3 times for the Portugal U-21 team. In 2008, he got his first cap for the Portugal national squad.
