Cheng Yuelei is a Chinese goalkeeper currently playing for the Chinese Super League side Guangzhou R&F. He was born on 28 October 1987 in Beijing, China.
Cheng is a product of Sichuan Guancheng youth system. In 2005, he joined the first team of the parent club, but was never to play a match for them as the club was disbanded. In 2006, Cheng Yuelei found himself at Dalian Shide but due to high competition at the team he was forced to play exclusively for the reserves. In 2007, he joined his hometown side Beijing Guoan but was constantly to struggle for the second-choice goalkeeper position with Zhang Sipeng during a two-year spell at the club.
In 2009, Cheng Yuelei enjoyed a meteoric rise in his career signing for Shenzhen Asia Travel FC. Shortly after his debut against Shaanxi Chan-Ba in April 2009, Cheng cemented his place as a first-choice goalie. For three seasons at the club, since 2009 till 2012, he made a total of 64 solid performances for Shenzhen Asia Travel. In 2012, the player signed a five-year deal with Guangzhou R&F from the Super League where he plays today.
