Chris Mavinga – is a left back at Rubin Kazan. He was born on 26 May 1991 in the city of Meaux (France).
The player’s youth career developed at five French academies. In 1997 he entered Combs-la-Ville academy where he spent seven years until 2004. In 2004 he moved to Sénart-Moissy youth team where stayed for a year. In 2005 Chris joined ES Viry-Châtillon but did not stay there long either. In 2006 scouts from PSG noticed a young talent and offered him to study at their club academy. From 2006 till 2009 Mavinga studied at Parisian club academy. In 2009 he moved to English FC Liverpool for a year.
After a year of successful performance at Liverpool youth team the defender was offered to continue his career in professional football. The player accepted the offer from English club and signed a three-year contract. During the first season Chris did not appear in a single match. Therefore he was given out on loan to another club.
Belgian club Racing Genk became his new temporary haven. Soon Mavinga integrated into the team but he rarely participated in the club matches. From January till June he featured only in 9 matches.
In the summer of 2011 the defender’s loan spell was over. However he received a call-up from French club Rennes from Ligue 1. The club bought out the player for £1 million from English club and signed a contract that kept him with the club until 2013. After 36 appearances the French youngster completed a move to the Russian side Rubin Kazan.
Since 2009 Chris has been a French international playing at U-18, U-19, U-20 and U-20 levels. In total he appeared in 28 matches.
