Christian Kum is a defender of Heerenveen. He was born on 13 September 1985 in Frankfurt, Germany.
Christian was born in Germany, but he left his native country when a teenager and went to the Netherlands. His first team was DSO, from where the footballer moved to the academy of Feyenoord. Kum spent some time in the youth system of the Rotterdam side club, where he trained to be a defender, and joined RVC Rijswijk. The German player had to be the best in his new team so that to attract the attention of ADO Den Haag. In January 2006 his dream came true, and Christian clinched a place in the main team of the club. His professional début came on 29 January 2006 in the 2-0 loss to Eindhoven. Kum netted his first goal for ADO Den Haag on 15 March 2009 in the victory over NEC Nijmegen. Christian made 144 appearances and found the net three times during seven years for the club.
On 1 July 2012, the German player finalized a move to Heerenveen on a free transfer.
Due to his superb skills, the footballer got an opportunity to pass a trial for a place in the Netherlands squad for the 2008 Summer Olympics. The defender managed to impress during his first training, but got an injury before a friendly against Sweden. However, Kum stayed at the reserves and could be called up in case one of his teammates got a trauma.
